The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting of the BelCCI Committee on Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities.
The Committee is a permanent collegial advisory and consultative body under the BelCCI with the tasks of discussing the aspects of business interest in the field of exhibition and fair activities, developing a consolidated position on problematic issues, including those related to improving the effectiveness of events in foreign countries.
The meeting was chaired by Elena Malinovskaya, Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI, Chairman of the Committee. Participating were Natali Kurash, Director of Belinterexpo Exhibition Company of the BelCCI, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus, Belgospischeprom and Belneftekhim Concerns, the National Center for Marketing and Price Study, Belarusian enterprises and organizations – active participants of Belarusian expositions at international exhibitions abroad.
The meeting participants summarized the preliminary results of national expositions in 2024 (at the 17th Caspian Agro International Exhibition and the 29th InterFood International Exhibition in Baku, as well as at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai), reviewed the draft plan of national exhibitions (expositions) in foreign countries for 2025, which includes two exhibition projects: the traditional exposition at the CIIE and the Made in Belarus exhibition in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. The participants discussed the goals and objectives of these projects, possible business support for the expositions, and approaches to the efficiency of Belarusian enterprises' participation in them.
In addition, they discussed the results of the exhibition events held this year by the Belinterexpo exhibition enterprise and the National Center for Marketing and Price Study, as well as the projects of events planned for 2025. Possible directions for improving the Regulations on the Procedure for Organizing National Exhibitions and Expositions Abroad to promote export-oriented goods to new foreign markets and diversify supplies of Belarusian products and services, including to the "far arc" countries, were considered.
The state support of Belarusian participants in international specialized exhibitions (fairs) was a separate issue on the agenda of the meeting. Deputy Director of the Department – Head of the Directorate for Foreign Economic Activities Coordination of the Foreign Economic Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yaroslav Mitskevich talked about the results of the implementation of the support mechanisms during 2024, answered the questions of the business circles representatives.
The committee members also discussed other topical issues of exhibition and fair activities in foreign countries.
