A round table on business cooperation between Belarus and the Voronezh region

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a round table on business cooperation between Belarus and the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation.

The event was organized by the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI in cooperation with the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Voronezh Region" as part of the visit to Minsk of the Governor of the Voronezh Region Alexander Gusev.

The round table was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Voronezh Region Government Artem Verkhovtsev, Director General of the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI Sergey Nabeshko, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Voronezh Region Sergey Petrovsky, heads of 28 Belarusian and Voronezh enterprises and organizations.

The participants of the event discussed topical areas of cooperation between businesses from Belarus and the Voronezh region, issues of optimizing production chains, import substitution, specific projects for cooperation between business circles in the fields of construction, agricultural engineering, and the petrochemical industry. The delegation of the Voronezh region was presented with business development opportunities on the territory of the Great Stone Chinese-Belarusian industrial park.

At the end of the round table, the Chairman of the BelCCI Mikhail Myatlikov held a meeting with members of the Voronezh delegation – Deputy Chairman of the Voronezh Region Government Artem Verkhovtsev and President of the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Voronezh Region" Sergey Petrovsky.

During the meeting, such issues as the prospects for deepening cooperation between Belarusian and Russian enterprises, localization of industrial production, issues of cooperation between chambers, experience and procedures for testifying to force majeure circumstances in the two countries, the possibility of promoting exports of Belarusian and Russian companies through e-commerce platforms and other mechanisms to support exporters in Belarus and Russia, issues of development of domestic tourism, measures to popularize the tourism opportunities of countries were raised for discussion.

Sergey Petrovsky informed that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Voronezh region is preparing a business mission of the region to Belarus in May this year. In this regard, the chairman of the BelCCI proposed to time the visit of the Voronezh delegation to major exhibition and congress events in Belarus - the international forum "Spring in Gomel", the agro-industrial exhibition "Belagro". He also invited senior executives of the Voronezh Region CCI to participate in the events organized by the BelCCI and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation within the framework of the 9^th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Grodno.

In turn, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Voronezh Region invited the delegation of the BelCCI and Belarusian business to pay a return visit to Voronezh, as well as to take part in the Voronezh Industrial Forum, which is scheduled to be held in autumn 2022.
