Topical issues and promising directions for the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation were considered in Minsk, during the Supplier's Day Business Forum of the Republic of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod Region of the Russian Federation.
The forum was organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" in continuation of the contacts and agreements reached during the government visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko to Nizhny Novgorod in early February this year.
A large delegation of business circles from the Nizhny Novgorod region arrived in Minsk to participate in the event. It included heads of 28 companies engaged in the production of automotive components and the development of robotic systems, the textile industry, radio electronics, the production of construction equipment and materials, industrial tools, design of premises and ship equipment, woodworking, metallurgy, production of auto and household chemicals, trade, and others.
The plenary part of the forum was attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Maxim Cherkasov, Chairman of the BelCCI Mikhael Miatlikov, Chairman of the Board, General Director of the Union "CCI of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" Ivan Razuvaev, heads of Nizhny Novgorod and Belarusian enterprises.
The forum featured presentations of the possibilities of using the support tools of the Russian Export Center, practical aspects of foreign economic transactions between Russian and Belarusian entities, the services of the logistics operator Beltamozhservice RUE, the advantages of using the mechanism of exchange trading for business development, successful examples of the participation of Russian business in procurement in the Republic of Belarus, as well as the export potential of the Orsha district of the Vitebsk region.
At the end of the plenary part, B2B negotiations took place between representatives of Belarusian and Nizhny Novgorod companies. More than 130 business representatives from all regions of Belarus arrived to discuss the possibilities of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Nizhny Novgorod delegation members.
As the BelCCI Chairman Mikhael Miatlikov noted during the forum, a significant number of participants in the negotiations, as well as the intensification of state and business events holding, indicate that representatives of the business community of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod region are keenly interested in building contacts and establishing partnerships. He expressed confidence that business events and visiting Belarusian enterprises would be productive for business, and the negotiations would result in specific agreements and contracts to be signed in the near future.
"The chambers of commerce and industry will continue to actively promote business dialogue, including within the framework of the upcoming Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, the INNOPROM exhibition and other exhibition and congress events scheduled for 2023," Mikhael Miatlikov assured the participants.
During the visit, the Nizhny Novgorod delegation also held meetings and negotiations at the platform of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park "Great Stone". On March 15 and 16, the guests will visit the flagships of the Belarusian industry – MTW, MAZ, BELAZ, Belkommunmash, as well as a number of small enterprises.
