Meeting of the Belarus-Kazakhstan Business Council

A meeting of the Belarus-Kazakhstan Business Council was held in Nur-Sultan, hosted by the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan. Attending the meeting were more than 80 business representatives from the two countries.

The event was organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with partner associations – Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan and "Atameken" National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan – as part of the visit to Nur-Sultan of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov and the 17th meeting of the Intergovernmental Belarus-Kazakhstan commission on trade and economic cooperation.

The meeting of the Business Council was attended by the Chairman of the BelCCI Mikhael Miatlikov, Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan Ayan Yerenov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Ivan Smilgin, Deputy Chairman of the Belgospischeprom Concern Alexander Yakovchits, representatives of business associations, free economic zones, enterprises of the two countries.

 Addressing the meeting participants, the BelCCI Chairman Mikhael Miatlikov noted that Kazakhstan is an important partner for Belarus; cooperation between business circles and chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries is intensively developing.

"The Business Council is important as a dialogue platform because it provides an opportunity for the businesses of our countries to discuss topical issues, outline prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation, including in solving the strategic tasks of establishing a comprehensive partnership," the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said. According to him, the meeting will contribute to the discussion of the possibilities of investment and business cooperation, taking into account the innovations that have taken place in the two countries, as well as to business ties expansion.

In turn, the Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan, Ayan Yerenov, noted the interest of Kazakhstani business in deepening partnership with Belarus across a wide range, as well as affirmed the readiness of his business association to provide all possible assistance to intensify contacts between enterprises and develop trade and economic ties between Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The meeting participants discussed topical issues of business cooperation, the possibility of implementing joint investment projects, the advantages of doing business by foreign companies within the free economic zones of Belarus.

During the meeting, 16 commercial contracts and agreements were signed between Belarusian and Kazakh enterprises.

Following the plenary part, entrepreneurs continued working in the format of B2B negotiations. Specific projects of cooperation between companies of Belarus and Kazakhstan in the fields of agricultural engineering, chemical, light and food industries, logistics, digital technologies, pharmaceuticals sector, education, and others were considered.

As part of his visit to Nur-Sultan, the Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhael Miatlikov met with the Chairman of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Presidium Raimbek Batalov and the Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan Ayan Yerenov. During the meeting, the most promising areas of inter-chamber cooperation, the possibility of exchanging visits of business delegations were considered.
