The Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Minsk City Executive Committee organized the International Forum of Economic Cooperation dedicated to the celebration of the 957th anniversary of Minsk.
The event was attended by heads of administrations and executive authorities, business associations, owners and top managers of large companies interested in establishing and expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, representatives of organizations of various forms of ownership from about 28 countries and 22 regions of the Russian Federation.
The forum was moderated by Sergey Nabeshko, Director General of the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI. The forum was opened by welcoming speeches of Vladimir Kukharev, Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Mikhael Miatlikov, Chairman of the BelCCI, Vladimir Platonov, President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Aibek Junushaliev, Mayor of Bishkek, and Alexei Orlov, Head of Ekaterinburg.
The speakers noted that the International Forum has become an established event demonstrating high interest in cooperation, with the number of forum participants increasing every year. “This shows that the forum platform is becoming interesting for the most different directions. Every year new industry proposals appear, which, I think, will become more voluminous and cover more and more spheres. There are no borders, it is possible to solve any problems. The task of such events is to find common ground, to give an opportunity for communication and discussion. The main thing in the modern world is the development of communication, and our forum is exactly the communication platform that allows us to solve many problems. We are ready to listen to any proposals today,” said Vladimir Kukharev, Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee.
In turn, the Chairman of the BelCCI expressed his gratitude for the high interest to the event on the part of foreign partners and guests: “It is pleasant to note in this hall our esteemed colleagues of chambers of commerce and industry, business partners, heads of cities and regions from friendly countries. The history of our cooperation is filled with a large number of events, holding business forums, exhibitions, fairs, and this is the result of successfully realized joint projects”. He expressed hope that during the work at the forum each participant would find new opportunities and appreciate the advantages of cooperation with the city of Minsk and the country as a whole.
Within the framework of the forum opening the key directions of cooperation of the Penza region of Russia with the regions of the Republic of Belarus, prospects of development of techno parks as a subject of innovation infrastructure, opportunities of the free economic zone “Minsk” for business were also presented.
After the opening ceremony, the forum was followed by intensive breakout sessions such as Strategic Priorities of Economic Development, Investments, Innovations and Opportunities, Development Prospects of Industrial Parks, Technoparks and FEZs in Russia and Belarus, and their role in building economic and technological independence.
Belarusian and foreign participants, representatives of business and government agencies, held B2G meetings and small-talk negotiations.
During the forum, its guests and participants had an opportunity to taste the treats of Belarusian cuisine, as well as to familiarize themselves with the results of Belarusian trademarks and brands presented in the Pershy trading house.
