The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold the International Legal Forum "AFRICA: legal subtleties of doing business" on October 29th.
During the forum, experienced expert speakers from Egypt, South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, Russia, and Belarus will present detailed information on the peculiarities of interaction with business partners, legal nuances, and important legal aspects of working with the countries of the African continent. This includes the peculiarities of building logistics chains, algorithms for minimizing possible risks, dispute resolution procedures, typical entry mistakes, insurance nuances, secrets of business communication, and much more.
Participants from Belarusian companies will have a unique opportunity to discuss the risks and opportunities of entering the African market with those who already have practical experience there.
The presentation of the upcoming international event took place during a briefing at the BelCCI. Vitaly Vabishchevich, Head of the Directorate-General for Legal Support and Digital Technologies, presented the concept of the forum, speakers and topics of future speeches to the leading mass media of the country.
In particular, Vitaly Vabishchevich noted that the relevance and timeliness of the forum are dictated by the fact that, based on the priorities of Belarus' foreign economic policy, there is currently an important task of developing relations with African countries and ensuring the growth of exports of Belarusian goods and services to the African market, the economic potential of which is constantly growing.
"At the same time, there are legal subtleties, since the market of the African continent is very heterogeneous – each country has its own law, business culture, and business landscape. Foreign economic activity is associated with many risks. It is important for businesses that are going to work in African countries to know the continent, the legal system, how to check counterparties, certify products, and so on", the BelCCI expert noted.
"The purpose of the forum is not only to talk about the opportunities and prospects of the African market but also to help Belarusian enterprises understand these and other issues, present schemes and algorithms of work, specific examples of successful project implementation and resolution of disputes. The forum will bring together a large speaker lineup who will talk about how to certify products, resolve disputes in separate arbitrations, what is the fundamental difference between the approaches of Belarus and the approaches of Africa, and more", Vitaly Vabishchevich emphasized.
The forum will be held on October 29th at the Hotel "Belarus" (15 Storozhovskaya Street, large conference hall).
Detailed information about the forum is available on the special website https://africa.cci.by/.
