Meeting with the management of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan

On the sidelines of the Pakistan-Belarus Business Forum, held in Islamabad, the Chairman of the BelCCI met with Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Executive Director of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Muhammad Nasir, Director General of TDAP. The meeting was attended by BelCCI representative in Pakistan Zhurabek Kirgizbekov.

The Pakistani side shared practical information on financial instruments, as well as on the existing legal framework in Pakistan to support Pakistani exporting enterprises using budget funds in organizing trade missions abroad. The Head of TDAP, who is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, detailed on the activities and key functions of Chambers of Commerce in Pakistan and TDAP.

The sides discussed priority areas of trade and economic cooperation, including establishment of joint ventures for production of machinery, seafood, organization of supplies of wood products, use of instruments of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange. Also on the agenda were some problematic issues of bilateral trade, such as organization of payments for foreign trade transactions and logistics of product deliveries.

The parties agreed to exchange information on the key exhibition and congress events in Belarus and Pakistan in 2025, outlined a plan of action to develop the agreements reached during the meeting of the Co-Chairs of the Belarusian-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation – Minister of Energy of Belarus Alexei Kushnarenko and Minister of Commerce of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Jam Kamal Khan, as well as a plan of action to implement the roadmap of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in 2025

The BelCCI Chairman invited the Pakistani colleagues to form a delegation of business circles to participate in such exhibition events in Belarus as "My Belarus" exhibition in December 2024 – February 2025, the international agricultural exhibition "Belagro" in June next year, and others.
