The Minsk "President Hotel" hosted a business forum of the Republic of Belarus and the Tambov region of the Russian Federation, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Union "Tambov Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry" as part of the visit to Belarus of the Head of the Tambov Region Maxim Yegorov.
The event was opened by the BelCCI Chairman Mikhael Miatlikov, Minister of Taxes and Duties of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Nalivaiko, President of the Tambov Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry Elena Voronina, Head of the Tambov Region Maxim Yegorov.
The Chairman of the BelCCI noted that Belarus and the Tambov region are actively expanding cooperation, and this is facilitated by the events held by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry. "The results of Belarus and the Tambov region in cooperation development speak for themselves. Last year, trade exceeded $170 million, an increase was about 65 percent comparing to 2021. In the first half of this year, the growth of our exports amounted to another 35 percent compared to the same period in 2020. This suggests that the events that take place under the auspices of the BelCCI will bear fruit in the future," Mikhael Miatlikov said.
Speaking about the export positions of Belarus to the Tambov region, the Chairman of the BelCCI noted that the Russian region is interested in a wide range of products. These are complex fertilizers, plant protection products, petrochemical products, foodstuffs, engineering products. "And the forum, as well as B2B negotiations, will reveal new productive proposals for mutually beneficial cooperation," Mikhael Miatlikov expressed confidence.
The head of the Russian delegation, Maxim Yegorov, also stressed the region's interest in partnership with Belarus. "Belarus is one of the main foreign trade partners of the Tambov region. We supply a large number of chemical products, we buy equipment. In industrial cooperation, we are interested in the production of agricultural machinery, the use of unmanned technologies.The agricultural sector is of considerable interest, too," he said.
At the end of the plenary part of the forum, businessmen from Belarus and the Tambov region continued to work in the B2B format. Heads and representatives of more than 50 enterprises and organizations of the two countries discussed in detail the possibilities for further development of partnerships in such areas as the production of chemical products, the supply of high-tech equipment, spare parts for agricultural machinery, the production and maintenance of lifting equipment, the development of software for agriculture, the production of fuel agricultural sensors, high-precision metalworking, and others.
During the visit to Belarus, the Tambov region delegation also visited the flagship enterprises MAZ and MTZ. Visits are planned to Amkodor, the Hi-Tech Park and a number of other enterprises and organizations.
In addition, at a meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and the Tambov region, a number of documents were signed, including an agreement between the Gomel Branch of the BelCCI and the Tambov regional CCI.
