The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a meeting of Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman, with Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Alvin Botes. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Belarus Mzuvukile Jeff Maqetuka attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Belarusian-South African business relations, as well as the issues related to the interaction of the BelCCI with partner organizations in South Africa to assist the business of the two countries in building a dialogue, the prospects for exchanging delegations and holding business events.
Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa noted that during the visit to Belarus his delegation had visited a number of enterprises and organizations and got acquainted with the production and logistics potential of the country. According to him, joint projects for the assembly of machinery and equipment, the implementation of scientific and technical developments of Belarusian scientists in some projects in renewable energy (in particular, solar panels and hydropower sources), as well as cooperation in the fields of logistics, information technology and telecommunications, mining and processing of minerals and gas are seen as promising.
